Emergency Medical Technician / Primary Care Paramedic
- Eligible for registration with Saskatchewan Health as an Emergency Medical Technician
- Valid class 4 Saskatchewan Driver's License

- International Trauma Life Support
Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced / Intermediate Care Paramedic
- Eligible for registration with Saskatchewan Health as an Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced
- Valid class 4 Saskatchewan Driver's License
- Driver's abstract
- Criminal Record Check
- Valid CPR Level 'C'
- International Trauma Life Support
Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic / Advanced Care Paramedic

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Resume Evaluation - Resumes are reviewed to ensure that candidates meet the minimum requirements for employment. Once a candidate has been deemed eligible, they are contacted and advised of the date for the next hiring process.
Written Evaluation - Applicants will begin the hiring process with a 150 question multiple choice exam.
Scenario Evaluation - Applicants that are successful with the written evaluation will participate in two practical evaluations.
Interview Evaluation - Applicants that are successful in the scenario evaluations will be scheduled for an interview. The oral interview focuses on previous job related experience, approach towards work and career, and personal development.
Field Evaluation - Applicants that are successful in the interview evaluation will be scheduled for two field evaluation days. The candidate will ride as a third member of a crew for two 12 hour shifts. This will not only give WPD Ambulance a chance to assess the candidate, but will also give the candidate a chance to see if WPD Ambulance is a place that they want to be.
Job Offer - After successful completion of all aspects of the hiring process, the candidate will either be offered a position with a start date, or the candidate will be placed on a short list. Those placed on a short list will be contacted when a position become available.
