WPD Ambulance is pleased to offer a Heart Safe program to the citizens of the Battlefords and surrounding communities. The program was implemented in September 2006 and the Battlefords became the 6 th city in Saskatchewan and the 12 th city in Canada to become Heart Safe.

The goal of the Battlefords Heart Safe Program is to increase the chances of someone surviving a sudden cardiac arrest. The Heart Safe Program aims to have an Automatic External Defibrillator activated within two minutes of a sudden cardiac arrest.

WPD Ambulance's Heart Safe Program currently has seven Heart Safe sites with Automatic External Defibrillators.
