Golf Tournament is a huge success

again this year  

Hugh Lord, Operations Manager for Rosthern and         

WPD  Ambulance, lost his handlebar moustache after agreeing

to donate it to the Rosthern Ambulance and Rosthern Hospital

Foundation Annual Golf Tournament. 

       Dustin Seidler, one of the Paramedic staff in Rosthern, came

up with an additional fundraising idea for the tournament based on

his bosss moustache.  I knew that Hughs moustache was near

and dear to him and that it was a long standing part of his look. 

 I just knew that asking him to donate it was the right fundraising

idea. Seidler said. 

       This was not the only idea Dustin worked on.  Between the

different fund raising ideas, he was able to raise an additional

$2000.00 which $1400 of it was for the moustache alone.  All of

 the proceeds go to the Rosthern Hospital Foundation and are

used to purchase needed medical equipment for the Rosthern

Union Hospital.

       All the staff at Rosthern Ambulance pitched in to raise funds

 and organize this years event with planning for the next tournament

 already underway.  Usually three to four months of hard work goes

into making each years tournament a success.  So far we have

 been able to increase the amount raised for each successive

event and we know we are going to have an even bigger event

next year. Said James Burton, Operations Supervisor for Rosthern

Ambulance.

       The Rosthern Ambulance and Rosthern Hospital Foundations

 Annual Golf Tournament is in its 9^th year with the last 7 tournaments

 raising $90,000.00 for the Hospital Foundation.  I am very pleased

 with this years Tournament and with the generous support of our

business sponsors and the golfers we raised $26,000.00 which

 will be used to purchase needed equipment for the Hospital. 

 Its just fantastic, Walter Dutchak, Owner / Operator of Rosthern

and District Ambulance said.

Walter went on to say that he believes in the community and

businesses and would like to see donations exceed $30,000.00 next year.
