Santa's EMS Elves: Cram an Ambulance

The Santa's EMS Elves: Cram an Ambulance campaign was inspired by the staff of WPD Ambulance in the fall of 2005.

Throughout the month of December, toys are collected are various drop off points throughout the Battlefords, and local businesses are encouraged to participate by collecting toys for the more needy children of the Battlefords. On one day in December, just before Christmas all of the toys that have been collected are stuffed into the back of an ambulance and transported to the Battlefords Food Back for distribution.

During the 2005 campaign, WPD Ambulance was able to stuff one ambulance full of toys. During the 2006 campaign, WPD Ambulance was able to stuff two ambulances full of toys. This will continue to be an annual event.

Katrina Relief Fund

In September 2004, New Orleans, LA was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. WPD Ambulance staff members recognized the need to help the Red Cross and organized a fund raising BBQ and set up the WPD Ambulance office as a drop point for donations to the citizens affected by Hurricane Katrina. During the campaign, more than $6,000.00 was raised and sent to the Red Cross to help the relief effort.
